Ireland, also known as the Emerald Isle, is a country in northwestern Europe. It is a member of the European Union and has a temperate climate. The emerald isle has a population of around 4.5 million people and it’s known for being home to some of the world’s most beautiful scenery.

Ireland has been inhabited since Neolithic times (4000 BC) with some evidence suggesting human activity dating back as far as 7000 BC during the Mesolithic period. Gaelic language and culture emerged from what was once called ‘Gaelic Ireland’ or Clanna Rory which consisted of over 5 kingdoms including Airgialla, Ulidia Connachta, Mumu – these kingdoms were later united by High King Niall Noigiallach mac Eimin who founded what would become known as The O’Neill Clan based out at Dungannon Fort near County Tyrone.
